We’re getting our week off between the Conference Championship games and Super Bowl LIX. Whether or not you’re happy with the result, these two teams deserve to be there. The Chiefs and the Eagles made the big plays, the bigger stops and adjustments along the way that are leading to another Philadelphia/Kansas City showdown, for the second time in three Super Bowls.

Before we transition to hockey talk, we want to take this time to remind you that our NFL Playoff Bracket Challenge is still live and in full swing!

Unlike other bracket challenges, UBET.io offers you a chance to bounce back every week and give you another shot at making the right pick. You’ve got just over a week, so take your time, get your research in and place your pick for Super Bowl LIX.

Not only that, but we’ll be launching a “UBET on the Super Bowl & WIN” bonus drop!

The rules for this are easy as we like to keep things simple for our users. Anyone who places a bet for a minimum of $20 on the Super Bowl will automatically be entered into an extra $1000 Prize Pool! Place your bet on the moneyline, spread, over/under, player props, you name it. As long as it’s at least a $20 bet on the big game, you’ll be entered.

UBET will be selecting 10 lucky winners from the pool to split the grand prize. So be sure to get your picks in now!

WIth that being said and the week off from football playoffs, let’s pivot to an all-time Canadian Showdown as the Toronto Maple Leafs head out west to take on the Edmonton Oilers. These are two teams that we cover on location so be sure to follow along with our NHL coverage.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Edmonton Oilers

Pick 1: Edmonton Oilers Moneyline -158

A tale of two teams as of late. The Leafs losers of their last 3 games and the Oilers winners of 3 over their last 4. While both sit respectively at the top of their divisions, the Oilers have shown a little more consistency than the Leafs over the month of January.

Mind you, the Leafs have been a little banged up. They got Max Pacioretty back on Wednesday vs the Wild and will have Matthew Knies expected back for the first match Saturday of this four game west coast swing. And yes, Tavares is not back yet either. But injuries don’t excuse the underwhelming play from the Leafs. There’s just an overall lack of energy, sleepy play on both ends, especially defensively (Morgan Reilly, we’re looking at you) and trouble producing from either line. After their loss to the Minnesota Wild at home on Wednesday night does not instill confidence in taking the Leafs on the road against a team that’s humming

The Oilers on the other hand are just more harmonious at this point in the season after experiencing their own injury bugs and a bumpy start at the beginning of the season. Leon Draisaitl has been tearing it up this season and has made his case for the Hart Trophy this year. He’s already notched 36 goals and 40 assists this season, 9 goals, 10 assists so far in January. Leon elevates his team's play even if McDavid is not in the lineup. If you’re browsing props on UBET.io, look at Draisaitl’s anytime goals, assists and total points as this is a rinse and repeat play when building your ticket.

Pick 2: Under 6.5 Goals

Getting back to this 3 game skid for the Leafs, they’re offensive production has been poor. Don’t let the 30 shots on goal fool you from Wednesday night. Coach Berube has kept Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews on the same line for three straight 1 goal games. Time to mix it up, but don’t be surprised if they stick with the same game plan heading into this road trip.

Flip over to the Oilers, they haven’t had any problems getting points on the board lately. They’ve combined for 15 goals in regulation over their last 4 games. Difference is they’ve been holding their opponents to three goals or less. In fact, the Edmonton Oilers haven’t allowed more than three goals the entire month of January except for their 5-3 loss to Minnesota on January 15th. Combine that with the Leafs struggle to score, we like the under for Saturday’s game. Even if you elect to take the 6 goal total or even the 5.5 total, we’d still lean on the under.
