Hot Events: Canada’s Hockey Glory & Leafs Ticket Giveaway!
21/2/25

Canadian pride has been through the roof after taking down USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship Game. It took extra hockey to complete it but Connor McJesus rose to the occasion, finishing with the golden goal that passed on the torch from Sidney Crosby himself.
‘A Canadian Heritage Moment’
We now turn our attention to the playoff standings for our Canadian teams. In the NHL, we have 5 of the 7 Canadian teams holding on to a playoff spot, with the Maple Leafs behind the Jets and the Oilers in overall points.
As for the Raptors, they find themselves sitting in 5th on the reverse standings, with tanking (hopefully) still in their sights. Fans still remain hopefully in the quest to secure the #1 overall pick (Cooper Flagg), if not, a top four selection in this year’s draft. With only 17 wins, there’s still ground to make up when it comes to increasing their chances at the lottery pick.
In other words, there’s room for disimprovement.
To kick things off, we want to remind our readers that we’ve been running a contest on Instagram giving away 2 FREE TICKETS TO SATURDAY’S GAME at Scotiabank Arena!

It’s that simple! Best hurry on this one as we’ll be drawing the winner on Friday, February 21st.
Now, let’s chat about the game itself.
Carolina Hurricanes vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Pick: Carolina Hurricanes Moneyline -126
We’re simply looking at the time off everyone has winding down from the 4 Nations tournament. Sebastian Aho and newly acquired Mikko Rantanen have four days' rest before hitting Saturday’s matchup against the Leafs. Both Matthews and Marner have 48 hours before they square off at Scotiabank Arena.
A fresher set of Rantanen and Aho over the Matthews line feels slightly more promising. Perhaps Seth Jarvis can provide a little more pop on that line, especially after the big dub over Team USA. Keep an eye out for Seth on +1 points.
Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors
Pick: Miami Heat -2.5 (-114)
We take a look at the standings after the All-Star break and Miami is still in the hunt for a 6 seed. They retained a lot of value after the Jimmy Butler trade, acquiring Andrew Wiggens and Kyle Anderson, who will help with scoring and play-making.
With Jakob Poeltl out due to a hip injury, we’re looking for Miami to win the rebounding battle, led by Bam Adebayo with +12 rebounds or more.
The Heat have a 3-6-1 record against the spread while going 4-6 overall over their past 10 games.
