There’s still lots of action around different leagues, with the NBA regular season winding down to their final games. The teams for the play-in tournament are locked but home court advantage is still up in the air for some. Here are some matchups to look at that have home-court implications heading into Friday.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Denver Nuggets

The Pick: Memphis Grizzlies +6.5 - 1.95

Both teams have recently parted ways with their head coaches. Nuggets coach Michael Malone was canned mere days before the end of the regular season and Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins had 9 games left on the schedule. The Grizz have been a .500 ball team since and winners of their last three. The Nuggets situation is a bit more fresh as they’ve dropped their last 4 games before break that skid on Wednesday against the Kings. 

Memphis has much more to play for in the standings. If they lose, they could find themselves sliding down to the 7th seed and into the play-in tournament, if Golden State beats Portland (which will likely happen).

LA Clippers vs Sacramento Kings
The Pick: LA Clippers -6.5 - 1.92

This line feels awfully small for a team that has been surging in the month of April. The Clippers haven’t lost a game since March 31st and hold a 16-4 record in their last 20 games. James Harden and Kawhi Leonard are poised to carry this Clippers squad through the playoffs and up the standings as they look to grab home court advantage by snagging the 4th seed from Denver, should the nuggets lose to the Grizzlies.

The Kings on the other hand have not been great, going 7-13 in their last 20. Limping into the playoffs is never where you want to be, and it could get worse with a loss that could send them back to 10th with a Mavericks win over the Toronto Raptors Friday night.
